welcome to the nc brunswick islands

Brunswick County is one of the oldest counties in North Carolina. It was charted in 1746 and named for the Prince of Brunswick. Brunswick County is the fifth largest county in area in North Carolina, bordering with New Hanover County, just before you cross the bridge going into Wilmington, to the South Carolina state line. Brunswick County has 19 towns. But
The Brunswick Island NC Beaches are the primary attraction. Uniquely situated along one of the "scalloped arcs" on the southeast coast of North Carolina, the beaches lie east and west and face south. If you would sail due south from say Ocean Isle Beach you would eventually run into the east coast of Florida.

The Brunswick Islands beaches are marked by small-town carolina coastal living charm while also conveniently located between historic Wilmington, NC and exciting Myrtle Beach, SC.

Relaxing on the beach, shopping, golfing, or fishing, are all just minutes away. There are also 30 golf courses within ten miles of the island not to mention the 100+ courses in the Myrtle Beach area.

Five islands, six beaches, and three mainland towns are the the Brunswick Islands.

On the mainland, Shallotte is the commercial and shopping hub for primarily the 3 beaches of Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Beach. While Oak Island is mainly served by Southport. Southport offers antiques shops, historic homes and the North Carolina Maritime Museum.

Calabash, located in the Southern most part of Brunswick County at the state line is known as the “Seafood Capital of the World” and is served by the town of Little River and North Myrtle Beach commercially.

Each island is different.
Sunset Beach is the Southern most and smallest island beach.

Ocean Isle Beach, is next up and known for its seven miles of quiet white beaches.

Holden Beach is the next Brunswick Barrier Island and is about eight miles long, with about 900 permanent residents.
Oak Island consists of the Town of Oak Island and the Town and Beach of Caswell Beach. I Long Beach and Yaupon Beach.

All the North Carolina Brunswick County Barrier Island Beaches are a great place to Vacation or enjoy a Carolina Coastal Living Lifestyle.
